Application forms and other details are available at the JICC (Japan Information and Culture Center) Library in the embassy in Manila, or at the consular offices of Japan in Cebu City and Davao City. They may be also be downloaded from theembassy website).
While the selection process for the scholarships is composed of several stages—document screening, written exams, and interviews, among the general requirements are good academic standing and formal education.
Only selected applicants at each stage will be notified for further instructions.
The embassy said free scholarship consultations are also held at its library every Friday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Interested individuals are requested to bring a valid ID so they can enter the embassy premises.
Scholarships are available for the following fields of study for up to five years of undergraduate course: Social Sciences, Humanities, and Natural Sciences;
For up to three years of professional training course: Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, Nutrition, Infant Education, Secretarial Studies, Hotel Management, Tourism, Fashion, Dress Making, Design, Photography, among others;
For up to four years of a College of Technology course: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Information, Communication and Network Engineering, Materials Engineering, Architecture and Civil Eng, Maritime Engineering, among others;
For a maximum of five years in research: Social Sciences, Humanities, and Natural Sciences.
