LTFRB tackles petition for fare hike
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board on Wednesday tackled the petition of transport groups seeking to bring back the minimum jeepney fare to P7.50. The Alliance of Concerned Transport Operators and Pinagkaisang Samahan ng Tsuper at Opereytor Nationwide (Piston) sought to remove the provisional fare rollback implemented last February following the series of oil price increases.
If approved the minimum fare for jeepney would go back to P7.50 from the current P7.

Meanwhile, Raymond Mendoza of the TUCP party-list said he will concentrate on social legislation once he officially joins the Lower House.
Mendoza will be joining his wife Emmylou Aliño-Mendoza, a third-term congresswoman of the first district of North Cotabato. The third Cebuano who will soon join Congress is Cresente C. Paez of Coop-Natcco, a national federation of cooperatives. Unlike Anad and TUCP, Coop-Natcco already has one representative in the Lower House.

Villafuerte nixes Nograles' Cha-cha mode
Camarines Sur Rep. Luis Villafuerte on Wednesday said he is questioning Tuesday's House proceedings that saw the sponsorship of House Speaker Prospero Nograles' resolution for charter change through legislation. Villafuerte, who is also the head of the Kabalikat ng Malayang Pilipino (KAMPI), said he found it "objectionable" that specific amendments are now being proposed even without the mode for amending the charter.
Villafuerte said he prefers that Congress first convene as a constituent assembly before tackling specific amendments.
