Public Works leads list of corrupt agencies
FILIPINOS CONSIDER the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Philippine National Police (PNP) and Department of Agriculture as the most corrupt agencies, a new Pulse Asia Survey showed. Conducted on Feb. 2-15, the survey said 32% viewed the DPWH as most corrupt, followed by the PNP (21%) and the Agriculture department (19%).
The Bureau of Internal Revenue was next at 16%, while the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Bureau of Customs had the same rating of 15%.
"Interestingly, while the DepEd is identified as most corrupt by 15% of Filipinos, 20% deem it as one of the least corrupt government agencies in the country," Pulse Asia said.
Following the DepEd among the least corrupt agencies are the Department of Health and the Department of Social Welfare and Development at 13% and 11%, respectively.
