Neck-and-neck race to succeed Arroyo
Moving up, meanwhile, were senators Francis G. Escudero who, while still in fourth place, found 23% favoring him from 19% previously, and Manuel A. Roxas, who jumped two places to fifth with 15% from 10% in December.
The SWS survey, conducted from February 20-23, used face to face interviews of 1,200 adults divided into random samples of 300 each in Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao. Sampling error margins were ±3% for national and ±6% for area percentages.
Former fifth placer senator Panfilo M. Lacson fell to 6th (14%, the same as in December), while the former holder of that spot, ex-President Joseph E. Estrada, fell a notch to 7th(13% from 11%).
